On May 22, Anne-Marie-Verstraeten and Laure Morsy officially joined the Board of Directors of BNP Paribas Lease Group SA as directors of the company. These two appointments significantly reinforce the gender balance in the Board of Directors, which now has 4 men and 3 women.
Since October 2016 Anne-Marie Verstraeten has been responsible for the United Kingdom for BNP Paribas and oversees all activities covered by the BNP Paribas Group in the country.
She holds a degree in Applied Economics from UFSIA (Antwerp) and a Master’s degree in International and Monetary Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain.
Anne-Marie Verstraeten has held various international roles; first for Fortis in New York, Singapore and London. In particular, she was Head of Global Energy Group at Fortis and Corporate Banking Counselor at Fortis’ Merchant Bank UK. She was appointed Territory Manager in Canada and a member of BNP Paribas’ management team in North America between 2010 and 2014. Later on, she managed BNP Paribas in the Netherlands before joining the United Kingdom.
Laure Morsy is Chief Operating Officer and member of the Executive Committee of BGL BNP Paribas. She is also Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) in Luxembourg. In particular, she coordinates the various entities of the International Financial Services (IFS) division in Luxembourg: BNP Paribas Securities Services, Cardif Lux Life, Investment Partners and Real Estate.
Laure Morsy holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the IEP of Aix-en-Provence and a Master’s degree in Public International Law.
She began her career as an auditor at Société Générale. In 2000, she joined BNP Paribas at the Financial Institution Group, which she managed from 2010 to 2013. Then in 2013 she became Chief Operating Officer of BGL BNP Paribas and supervised the Finance, IT, Logistics and Legal and fiscal functions, as well as the project teams. In 2014, her responsibilities are extended to CIB Luxembourg. Laure is a former President and Founder of the BNP Paribas MixCity Association.
After her appointment, Laure will participate in the work of two specialized Board of Directors committees: she will chair the Audit Committee of BPLG SA and will be a member of the Internal Control and Risk Committee.
