BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions announced today that it is continuing its strategic expansion in the Nordic region with the launch of its commercial operations in Sweden and Denmark beginning of 2020. Sweden and Denmark therefore complete the European network of the leader in professional equipment finance.
In July 2018, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions acquired Landkreditt Finans A.S. in Norway as the first milestone of its expansion, focusing its activities on its core business, which is to support the growth of its industrial Vendor partners through finance solutions and services for their sales network’s (dealers, resellers) professional clients. The subsidiary recorded a 4% growth of its business volumes in 2019.
In this context, BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions decided to open its commercial operations in Sweden and Denmark beginning of 2020 with the same ambition of supporting its partners in these two new countries. To start off, it will focus on its two long-standing markets, agriculture and construction, but BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions intends to rapidly develop the medical sector as well.
The three countries are under the supervision of Fabrice Perret, who moved to Oslo in 2018 after the launch of commercial operations in Norway and who has since then successfully led the expansion of BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions in the Nordic countries with the opening of Sweden and Denmark. Fabrice Perret is also currently preparing the launch of an additional subsidiary in Finland which is planned for 2021.
Fabrice Perret, 54, has been at BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions for the past 27 years. He joined the company in 1993, when it was called UFB Locabail, as an internal auditor in charge of foreign subsidiaries. Later, between 2002 and 2006, he joined Arval in Germany, where he held various positions within the Finance Department, before returning to BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions as Deputy General Manager of TEB Leasing in Turkey. From 2008 onwards, he occupied various positions within the Country Supervision Department and in 2012, he was appointed Head of the Run Down portfolio (sale of activities). Since 2015, he had been Head of Strategy and Development for the Leasing business and was involved in several acquisition projects. He notably coordinated the acquisition of Landkreditt Finans AS in Norway and was appointed Head of the Nordic countries in 2018 with the mandate to develop business in this region.
“Our customers are increasingly looking for a global partner capable of supporting them in the financing of their commercial operations around the world. BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, already present in 18 countries, has been in Norway since 2018. With the opening of Sweden and Denmark, we are strengthening our presence in the Nordic markets, allowing us to serve better our clients, whose strategies are now more region centric. To build on our success in Norway as well as the region’s growth potential, the group also considers establishing itself in Finland by 2021.” said Charlotte Dennery, CEO BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions.
